On behalf of the ENFSI APST Working Group Steering Committee and
the Department of Forensic Medicine, University of Pécs we are happy to invite you to the
12th APST Working Group annual meeting
Programme and sessions
1. Call for presentations and posters
Poster or oral presentation, it’s your choice!
The success of our Annual Meeting depends on each one of you. Your cont0ribution is crucial. No matter whether you are experienced or not currently working in the field. It’s not necessarily high profile cases, nor high impact academic research. All facets of the APST activities are welcomed - such as general casework, execution and suggestions of practical routines, short-term experiments, and advanced research. We invite you to either give an oral presentation (of no longer than 15 minutes) or a poster presentation.
We will try to maintain a balance between case-related and scientific-research related presentations. Present your most important/curious/memorable case or share the results of your experiments/research with the rest of the group. It will be very interesting and informative to share with your colleagues so feel free to share your knowledge in this safe environment.
In addition to the oral presentations, we will hold an interactive poster session, where the authors facilitates short presentation and dialogue about the topic of the poster (of no longer than 5 minutes).
Do not worry about whether your cases are exciting enough or not, or if your research is not at the cutting edge, your participation is always highly appreciated!
The steering committee wants to involve as many of our members as possible, so we are keen to receive your abstract submission by the 9th of March (please see abstract submission form attached).
2. Unidentified Forensic Object (UFO) session
We would very much like to organize a “UFO” session, where we can discuss and debate any unclear issues in a max of 5 minutes (with or without slides) to present an unidentified or unknown object to the group with photographs or present topics to discuss with the other participants. The session is intended to introduce colleagues but will also provide the opportunity for more extensive discussions later on (such as in free time/coffee breaks/lunch/dinner).
Please note that personal and confidential data such as names, places, case details, etc. should be removed from any written material.
3. Workshops (WS)
We will also organize two workshops on nhDNA and Soil/morphology/diatoms (please see Provisional Program). WS chair positions for the nhDNA workshop are open, and you are welcome to present your proposal. Contact the steering committee (APST@enfsi.eu) for more information.
4. Business meeting
As always, we will also have a business meeting (see Provisional Program). Please note that if there will be a vote, then each participating laboratory/institute has one vote.
